Anas

Anas Maarawi is a Syrian blogger who, in addition to writing a popular personal blog, founded Ardroid, the first Arabic website specializing in the Android OS for smartphones.

Maarawi was arrested on 1 July 2011 in Kafarsousah, Damascus. No information about him has been released since.

In addition to a Facebook campaign, activists have also started a blog to campaign for Maarawi’s release.

We demand the Syrian authorities to release Anas immediately as emergency law was lifted.
